Comcast was founded in 1963 as a single-system cable operation. Comcast began providing cable television service to the residents of Sarasota a few years later. Today, we’re the country’s largest provider of broadband services. We’re focused on broadband cable, commerce, and content. Over the nation’s largest fiber system, we deliver digital television services, provide faster Internet and economical, full feature phone service.
As Comcast evolves, we continue to look to the future - seeking out new communications technology, new opportunities, and more choices. We want to continue to provide people with the communications products and services that connect them to what’s important in their lives.
Comcast is committed to the Sarasota community through Comcast Foundation grants and its association with United Way along with many other Sarasota organization sponsorships, projects and special events. Comcast has approximately 600 employees locally, which is an important part of its legacy.
